Elm Motel

What a hidden gem! The outside disguises the hidden gem of a room. First of all we travel all over, mainly in 4-5 star hotels in suites and also platinum members within hotel chains. Last minute booking for business trip. Honestly, we were a bit concerned as my wife has allergies. Not only was it clean and fresh but renovated inside with good size screen and streaming accessible like Stan and Netflix. (See my actual photo upon arriving) Heater worked well in freezing temperature outside. Steaming hot showers also. Well appointed with kettle, toaster, microwave in room also with biscuits, coffee and tea. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom had body wash, shampoo and conditioner wall mounted in shower and wall mounted hand wash and lotion near basin. Felt secure with electronic keypad entry. San greeted us and was a pleasure to deal with. Have told other business people to stay there also. Impressed.

Contactless check-in. Room was comfy, not noticeably dirty. I didn't hear my neighbours in their room (though maybe they were just quiet...) Various streaming services available on the TV. Foodary next door. Hand soap, moisturiser, shaving cream, body wash, and shampoo/conditioner all provided.

Everything! Clean and tidy the room had more than we were expecting including cutlery, plates, bowls etc. Tea and coffee, toaster and microwave, supplied. The bed was very comfortable, something that I was concerned about with a shoulder injury. Heating and cooling supplied and very effective. My marker for good accommodation is ‘would I stay here again’? The answer, yes I would and I would happily return for a longer period than just the over night stay we had this time. Highly recommend.

Even though the rooms were close together, I did not hear anything, from anyone. I did hear road noise but that didn’t bother me. The self checkin was a great concept and no room keys to worry about made checkout as simple as closing the front door.

Room was nicely furnished and clean. Well equipped with Microwave, fridge and Kettle, iron, hairdryer... AND dishwashing supplies!! Online CheckIn and doors to the rooms with a code. So really no staff visible to talk to. Rooms were made up every day and fresh towels provided as well as coffee etc. refilled. First impression was a bit of an "ooops" from the outside.... rooms were of a good space and nicely furnished... except for the armchairs which were quire worn out.
